Who has read the book? and do you like it better than the movie?
I read the book and personally I liked it a little bit better than the disney movie. I really want to see the Alice in Wonderland with real people. I started watching it over xxcheshirecatxx 's house, but never finished it.

Yeah I really liked the book. But I can't say if I liked it better than the Disney movie. The girl who played Alice in the real life movie, really bugged me!!! lol

Yeah, lol. The book was awesome. I haven't read through the looking glass, yet. It had a lot of extra things that weren't in the disney movie that made the book a little more interesting.
I absolutely love the disney movie, though. I think they did a great job with it and its one of my favorite disney movies!

Well which real live movie are you talking about? The Alice from the ABC version gets on my nerves.
i have The Annotated Alice which has both books. And i love them both to death! More than the d*sney movie. But not more than the ABC movie

It's in development. From what I heard, Dakota Fanning will be Alice.
Personally, why don't they just get an English girl? That's my $0.02.

Dakota Fanning is a really good little actress, but I agree that they should get an English girl. It'd fit more. I loved how in the other Alice movie, Martin Short played the Mad Hatter. He fit so well in that role. lol

AHHH! I loved the Mock Turtle!! The Gryphon was just plain awsome though. I can't decide if he's my fav Through the Looking Glass character.

I've read both "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There" and while I love most every rendition of Carroll's works to be found, my first and truest love will always be the books. There's so much more excitement and adventure to them; maybe because the books force us to rely on our own imaginations rather than the interpretations of others?

I'm in the middle of reading the book myself, it's really good, but too soon for an opinion on if it's better than the movie.

The additional things in the book such as the mock-turtle and such were fun to read about. xD Alice is so much younger in the book though! She's seven while in the movie she's twelve or so. Oddly enough I think she's a bit more mature in the book, haha. I love the movie Alice though. xD ~ Ace of Hearts |
